ACAT's Prayer
God made of Love, Strength and Compassion, all of us who share the Good News of Jesus Christ, we cry to You and address to You our prayer: Lord, when a member of your Body suffers from isolation, torture and fears a painful death, Awaken in us your Spirit of Compassion. Lord, when a society no longer makes any room for projects respectful of all human life and no longer hears the cries of the desperate, the poor and the marginal, Lord, when nations, crushed by despair, resort to violence to bring change, Lord, when too many persons still torture and disfigure your Face, Lord, when repressive governments violate human dignity day after day and do not respect their commitments to the integrity of all people in international conventions, Lord, when those who seek justice risk their lives to defend human rights, let their testimony of love be an example for us, Lord, when we close our eyes and our hands in face of our responsabilities to free a brother or a sister subjected to inhuman treatments, |
